The Cake:
It was my goal that I was going to make McKayla's cake for her dedication. I had a couple of ideas in my head and saw a few online, but just kind of had it come together as I went. The beginning was a rough start, and then Dan chipped in and helped the whole time until it was finished. Needless to say the kitchen was a disaster when we were finished and there was powdered sugar all over!!! :o) But we are very happy with the results!

The end result! A BEAUTIFUL cake just like our little girl!

Getting ready in the morning. Grandma Drenth came to the house to help!

Looking so beautiful in my dress and full of smiles!

Family picture! Someone is already for her hat to come off!

The luncheon following the service with friends and family. We had pulled pork that uncle Bennett smoked in his smoker and it was .... mmmmmm good!

Hanging out with uncle Bennett and aunt Felicia.

Opening gifts. McKayla very interested in her cards.

Me by my cake!

Mom and me hanging out!
This is one of the bible verses we picked for McKayla for her dedication. This is our prayer for her.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all
your ways acknwledge him and he will make your paths straight. (Provers 3:5-6)
The second verse we choose was
Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your
truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
(Psalm 25:4-5)

September/October 2009

Well the summer has gone bye really fast and we are already into fall. We have had a lot of rain and even some snow, but what do you expect for unpredictable Minnesota weather!

McKayla has really grown up fast these past two months. She still isn't exactly crawing. She has found that it is much easier to roll all over the floor. Back and forth she will roll and then she will get stuck under the coffee table which she thinks is a jungle gym and will play under it. She is starting to talk more and more every day. She will imitate sounds, sing to songs (or yell), and will shake her whole body and bob her head to the music. Her top four teeth are coming in right now as well, but she is taking it pretty well. She is still are good sleeper and eater and she is really enjoying playing with her friends and daycare. She has learned how to clap her hands to "if you are happy and you know it." It is just so cute!

Happy Halloween! Our little Kayla bug was a bubble bee this year. We mostly just stuck around the house and handed candy to the kids, but we also went out to a couple of our neighbors to get some candy!

My first Halloween candy! A sucker! MMMMMMM and I loved it! :o)

I really do like it!

I have to play with the bucket!

Checking out all the loot of candy that I recieved and having fun throwing it all on the floor!

Me and mom ready to go out!
Dad getting ready to go out also!

Hmmmm.. Which candy do I want to eat next?????

Having fun being naked before I go to get my bath. Daddy was making me really laugh! :o)

Loving my puffs but thinking that it is more fun to put them on the floor!

and then fall over and eat them off of the floor!

Having so much fun!

Who me? Mom I am just playing with my food!

Cousin Noah's Birthday was on October 1st! We went up to his house that weekend and celebrated with him and the rest of the family for his 2nd Birthday Part!!!
Getting ready to open the gift!

Me and cousing Maddy! I enjoyed playing with the wrapping paper the most!

Only room for two! Cousin Noah and Maddy playing in the box!

Hanging out with Gradpa Bernie. I think his glasses are a pretty fun toy to play with!

Trying to get all the Drenth cousins to smile at the same times doesn't work so well. Everyone was not cooperating so well.

But at least we all have fun playing together!
Me and uncle Bennett hanging out!

So full of smiles while I play!

Me and daddy! We don't look alike at all do we??? :)

Eating a teething biscuit! Love them but they sure do make a mess!

In September we all went to Iowa to one of Mommy's friends wedding. Of course if we are in LeMars Iowa we have to go to the Blue Bunny Parlor to have icecream!

I LOVE icecream!
