McKayla and I went on a trip to California to see family! We had a great time visiting with grandparents and seeing family that we had not seen in a while! It was just McKayla and myself for a week. Daddy had to stay home and work and he was greatly missed! I think he missed his girls pretty bad also! Overall McKayla was the best little girl ever to be traveling all the time! She was go good on the plane and during all the driving. We really did have a great time!

I made an anniversary cake for our friends 10 year anniversary! She never got a really nice wedding cake when they got married the first time, so when they renewed their vows, they wanted something nice! It sure was fun!

Sring Times is here March/April

Spring is here! The snow has melted and we are able to get outside! Minnesota has actually had some warm days up in high 70's and low 80's. It has been so nice and we are loving be able to go outside and play! McKayla is still growing up so fast. She is talking lots more, trying to start to walk, coloring, and just full of energy. Every day she is learning something new and it has been so much fun watching her grow up! Here are some of our latest pictures from March and April. Hope that you enjoy looking at them!

Daddy went and got a trailer to pull behind the bike! We just took it out this weekend and McKayla loves it! We will have so much fun going on bike rides!

Winter ~ January/February

Wow, this year has been going bye very fast! McKayla is growing and developing so fast into such a great little girl. Although she will sometimes have her moments, she is probably one of the best little girls ever! It is amazing how fast she is learning things. She will imitate many things that mommy and daddy will say, she loves playing with kids from daycare and with her cousins, and she is starting to walk around on along furniture. She is so cute to watch as she walks along on the couch and then will stretch with one arm and move to her toys. I know that she will be walking and running in no time! :o) Here are some of her latest pictures from January and February.

McKayla bit her lip at daycare. We are trying to get a good picture, but she did not want to cooperate very much.

For Valentines day I tried to get McKayla to hold up the letters LOVE. She would cooperate at first for me, then she started to get sick of having to pose! She did a good job though!

The final result for daddy for Valentines Day!

On February 16th Mommy and Daddy had their poor little hearts drop. We got a call from daycare saying that McKayla had hurt her arm really bad at daycare. We took her into the emergency room and found out that she dislocated her left elbow. They were able to reduce it in the ER and they put her in a soft splint and sling for a couple of days. Even though she was hurting really bad, she still was a good sport throughout the whole thing! What a good little girl!

Back at home and after a long nap she is looking well and having fun cuddling and watching movies. She was such a good girl.

On Friday we were able to take her cast off! We put her in the tub and she did really well. She started to use the arm and little and has been using it well ever sense!

The Drenth cousins! The newest addition is Dawson Drenth! He was born on January 8th and was adopted into the Bennett and Felicia Drenth's house! He has been such a blessing to the whole family! (Noah Bandstra, McKayla Drenth, Madelyn and Dawson Drenth)

On the last day of February the weather finally started to get nice and we thought it was a heat wave at 38 degrees. So, we bundled McKayla up and took her for a little sled ride in the front yard. She didn't really like getting all bundled up, but she sure did look cute!

How does a year go bye so fast???? On January 5 our little princess turned 1! WOW!!! Our little girl is already one years old! She has been such a joy and blessing in our lives. She has grown into being such a great little girl! She now has 8 teeth, she is crawling, and saying some words. Every day she learns something new and she is just so much fun!

Christmas 2009

Well, another year has come and gone! How time flies! We had a great Christmas this year. It lasted about a week long with all the celebrations and eating. Aletha had to work on Christmas so McKayla and Dan stayed in town while she went to work. We also got a huge snow storm in MN on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. In Mankato we got about 16 inches of snow in the two days. It made for a very white and cold Christmas, but a great time with family.

Well... We were in Utah at the Gravette's for Thanksgiving when Dan had his 30th Birthday. We decided to go out and celebrate the day before and grandma and grandpa Gravette got to babysit McKayla.

It was my goal that I was going to make McKayla's cake for her dedication. I had a couple of ideas in my head and saw a few online, but just kind of had it come together as I went. The beginning was a rough start, and then Dan chipped in and helped the whole time until it was finished. Needless to say the kitchen was a disaster when we were finished and there was powdered sugar all over!!! :o) But we are very happy with the results!

The end result! A BEAUTIFUL cake just like our little girl!

September/October 2009

Well the summer has gone bye really fast and we are already into fall. We have had a lot of rain and even some snow, but what do you expect for unpredictable Minnesota weather!

McKayla has really grown up fast these past two months. She still isn't exactly crawing. She has found that it is much easier to roll all over the floor. Back and forth she will roll and then she will get stuck under the coffee table which she thinks is a jungle gym and will play under it. She is starting to talk more and more every day. She will imitate sounds, sing to songs (or yell), and will shake her whole body and bob her head to the music. Her top four teeth are coming in right now as well, but she is taking it pretty well. She is still are good sleeper and eater and she is really enjoying playing with her friends and daycare. She has learned how to clap her hands to "if you are happy and you know it." It is just so cute!

Happy Halloween! Our little Kayla bug was a bubble bee this year. We mostly just stuck around the house and handed candy to the kids, but we also went out to a couple of our neighbors to get some candy!

Hello everyone! Can't believe that it is already the middle of September! How time flies bye! McKayla is growing up so fast! She is sitting up on her own, got two bottom teeth, and starting to imitate what mommy and daddy are saying! She is so much fun and we can't believe how fast she is growing into a beautiful little girl! Here as some of our most recent pictures of the end of the summer.

On September 12th the Drenth Family got together in Hollandale, MN for the Harvest Festival. We had a great time hanging out and we put the kids in the Kiddie Parade. All the kids were dressed up in bee costumes and the adults even got in on the fun and put on antennas. It was a lot of fun and we got some great pictures of the kids!

Summer Fun 2009

McKayla has really changed this last couple of months. She starting sitting up on her own and she even got her first tooth this past weekend. We can't believe how fast time goes bye. These are some pictures of this summer. We have really had a great summer and we still have some left.

The Drenth Family went to a cabin in July in Waterville, MN. We went for a couple days and had a lot of fun. Most of out mornings were spent relaxing in our PJ's. Later on in the day we would all head for the pool.

Can you believe it??? McKayla is now 6 months old! We had fun going and gretting pictures taken. I will upload some more pictures from the last couple of weeks for everyone to see!

McKayla 4-5 Months!

How time flies! McKayla is already 5 1/2 months old! It seems like just yesterday when our tiny little girl came to the world! A lot has changed these past couple of months. McKayla has been full of smiles and even giggles!!! She just has the cutest little giggle and she loves to dance. We will lay her on her back and wiggle her feet around. She will always get a huge smile on her face and just giggle with laughter! It has been so much fun! McKayla has also figured out that it is fun to sing and play with her feet. We picked her up for daycare this week and our daycare lady said that she was singing with all the kids. Once she turned up the music even more, McKayla would start to sing even louder with her whole body would be moving! It is just so much fun to see her growing up. Can't believe that McKayla is going to be 3 month old on April 5. How time flies! This is a special day as well because it is Grandpa Drenth's birthday as well! Mom decided to take me to get my pictures taken! We are very happy with the results!

Trip to Cali!

Our first trip to California with McKayla on Feb 27- Mar 9. We went out to see Great Grandparents and family. My Grandpa Rickert was not in good health, so we wanted to get out to see him and so he could see McKayla. Even though he passed away 4 days after we got there, we were so glad that we came out to see him and the rest of the family.

First plane ride! McKayla did very well, and slept the whole way. (Even dad got some nap time in!)

Uncle Ryan got to hold me for the first time. He also came out to Cali to see grandpa.

We met up with my other set of grandparents while we were there for lunch. Great grandpa and grandma Gravette and Aunt Jeanne got to see and hold here. (Uncle Gene was there as well, but just not in this picture.) What a fun time!!!

Dad was such a great help and he really got to bond with McKayla over the 10 days. Longest time he was able to be with her without having to go to work! What a proud papa!

We took McKayla to go see grandma Gravette's grave. We got a locket to put around the little angels neck with pictures of us in it. What a memorable day.

Great Grandma Rickert got to enjoy lots of cuddle time. We love this because great grandma is enjoying cuddle time, reading the paper, and of course the cat has to be there too!

Grandpa Gravette got to hold both McKayla and Eric. Eric is McKayla's cousin who was born just 1 week after her.

Baby Shower for McKayla! First there was a shower in Hollandale, MN that was thrown by Grandma Crystal, Auntie Felicia, and Auntie Jennell.

2nd Shower was thrown in Mankato, MN of Feb 14th by the Womens Mentoring program in our church. This is a picutre of me with my womens mento Carolyn. She made this adorable quilt for McKayla. We are so blessed to have her apart of our lives!

* First Couple Days at home

Soooo.... we made it home ok! We are so happy to be out of the hospital and back to our house.

Unlce Bennett Aunt Felicia and Cousin Maddy came to visit the first day that we were home!

Grandma Crystal came and stayed the first couple of days with us! What a blessing to have someone help with chaning diapers, making food, laundry, and cleaning the house! I think we are getting spoiled!

So tired, but dad say's I have to get my picture taken.

Hurley doesn't want much to do with McKayla, but he sure is enjoying all of the fun gift bags and wrapping paper to play with!

Leaving for the hospital at 12:00 at night! Not what we were expecting 2 1/2 weeks early, but what a blessing!!!

McKayla Elizabeth Drenth!!! Born January 5, 2009 at 3:09 pm!

6lbs 15 ounces 20 1/2 inches long! Our little bundle of joy!

Pregnancy Photos 28-33 weeks!

Halloween 2008 at our friends house. We tried to stay as warm as possible. 28 weeks!

We went up to the cities to buy the crib, dresser, and armour. We could barely fit it all in the back of the Tahoe. Some of the crib is sitting on top, but everything made it home in one piece! 29 weeks!

We had a weekend with Dan's family where we went to Lansboro, MN for the weekend and rented out a bed and breakfast. It was a lot of fun! 29 1/2 weeks!

We spent Thanksgiving with Dan's family. We were unable to travel back to Utah to see my family, becuase we are now in the third trimester. We had a great Thanksgiving and weekend with the family. We also celebrated Dan's golden 29th Birthday! 32 weeks!

On December 5th, Dan and I went to my ISJ Christmas party. We went with some of our friends and we got dressed up for the occassion. It was a lot of fun! 33 Weeks!

Pregnancy Photo 16 weeks!

Dan and I went on a family vacation to Northern MN in the last week of August. We had fun relaxing and enjoying the water. This was a really exciting weekend for us because this is when I first started to feel "flutters" of baby moving. 19 Weeks

Went home to Utah to see family and to have a Baby Shower. What a fun time to see family and friends and to celbrate. It was a double shower for me and my sister-in-law Amanda who is due the same day I am! 24 1/2 Weeks!

Baby's First Picture! This was our first ultrasound picture taken in May. We are 5 weeks pregnant here and baby is just a little cheerio.

We went home the following weekend to tell our family that we were expecting. We decided to tell them in a fun way so we told them we would bring "dessert" to share with everyone!

I know you can't see my tummy here, but this is on June 28, 2008 when Dan and I went to New Ulm, MN to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We had fun staying at a bed a breakfast and going out to dinner together. 10 1/2 weeks!

Time for the belly button ring to come out :o( Sooo disappointing. 11 1/2 weeks

Dan celebrated his 10 year class reunion on July 12, 2008. We had fun reconnecting with some of Dan's old buddies and meeting some of his classmates. 12 1/2 weeks
